Last year, I had the opportunity to sit down with stand-up comedian Sugar Sammy before a string of shows at Rumors Comedy Club in Winnipeg. He was touring the country promoting his debut CD, Down with the Brown. (If you haven't yet seen it, you might want to watch it first before going any further.) The tour and CD ended up selling incredibly well, which led to a year of comedy globetrotting.

Sugar Sammy recently came back through town to begin a national theatre tour sponsored by Just for Laughs -- quite a step up from playing the comedy clubs, but no big deal for a guy who's headlined a one-man show in South Africa in front of over 10,000. I got the chance to do a follow-up interview with the hilarious comic to talk about where he's been since we last spoke, what we might be seeing from him in the future, and most importantly, his favourite superhero!

Besides Winnipeg, the Sugar Sammy Just for Laughs tour will hit Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Surrey, Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal over the next couple weeks. After the Canadian tour is finished, he'll be performing in Beirut, Atlanta, Melbourne, Sydney, and Auckland. For his full tour schedule, visit www.myspace.com/sugarsammy.
