DVD Review: The Hammer

IMDB Tagline: Some Guys Don't Know Their Destiny Till It Hits Them In The Face.

Film review: You know what? I liked this movie a lot more than I thought I would. After hearing nothing about it until it was handed to me at dinner, I was a little worried that I'd have to sit through 88 minutes of awful. As it turns out, I was quite incorrect. Adam Carolla proves that he has great comic timing (in a film), and the supporting cast does a great job too.

As stated above, the running time of 88 minutes is a perfect length for this type of film, as it's not so short that it takes away from building up the characters, and it's not too long that I get bored. Ooh shiny!!!... <walks away>......................

Where was I?

Right, Perhaps because I was expecting to hate it so much, and was almost immediately convinced otherwise, but I caught myself laughing out loud at least 5-10 times.

This type of movie doesn't have extremely high production values, so the music, directing, effects, lighting etc... doesn't push any boundaries. That said, there were no parts of this film that brought the whole experience down at all. Very well made flick.

3.5 out of 5.

Special Features: This movie has the 'norm' of special features that one would expect nowadays... Audio commentary, deleted scenes, outtakes, etc. Nothing extremely special here, but all decent if you want a bit more of Adam Carolla.
