Synopsis

Kelly (Melanie Lynskey) and Jeff (Joe Swanberg), a married couple with two-year-old son Jude, are relatively content with their life. However, when Jeff’s sister Jenny (Anna Kendrick), a volatile young woman recently split from her boyfriend, moves in with them in exchange for help with the child, the family’s idyll is shaken.

From her arrival, Jenny demonstrates she is immature and unreliable. Still, Jenny is trying to get her life back on track. She starts dating Kelly and Jeff’s babysitter Kevin (Mark Webber). Meanwhile, her relationship with Kelly improves, and Jenny, together with her friend Carson (Lena Dunham), helps Kelly realize that she needs a change in her life, career and relationship.
