And what a Curb finale it was! As a massive Seinfeld fan, the prospect of seeing a Seinfeld reunion show WITHIN the Curb Your Enthusiasm universe was actually even more appealing to me than to actually ever see a "real" reunion show. I knew they'd be able to treat things on Curb (and on HBO) a lot better than anything that would've aired on NBC would've turned out. And I knew Larry (in Curb world) would be a delight to watch surrounding all the chaos. After finally getting to see this storyline come to its brilliant end, I can say it was everything I had hoped for and more. Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Black SwanPosted by Shane Hallam | Friday, November 6, 2009 @ 12:58pmSunday night's Curb Your Enthusiasm was adequate; it was a bit on the ordinary side for the television program, meaning that it reverted to some of the season 4 or 5 type of writing, where the plot was somewhat one-dimensional and entirely predictable. However, that being said, the program was still very enjoyable as Curb typically is; it just wasn't outstanding the way the rest of the season, with its complex plots and guest stars, has been so far. Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Bare MidriffPosted by Shane Hallam | Friday, October 30, 2009 @ 1:05pmOne again, an hilarious episode from Curb Your Enthusiasm. Fans of Jerry Seinfeld got a real kick out of this one, as he had his second appearance on the program this season, and was at his absolute best. He had one line that I won't repeat for fear of spoiling, but suffice it to say it was one of the wittiest he's ever delivered on record. Curb Your Enthusiasm: Denise HandicapPosted by Shane Hallam | Friday, October 23, 2009 @ 12:01pmTo anyone who has ever read my reviews of this program, it is no secret that I am a rabid fan, and that I can't get enough of Larry David. From his Seinfeld days to his much overlooked Woody Allen indie comedy Whatever Works, I have essentially seen everything he has done. Therefore, it should come as little suprise that my column here about his program Curb Your Enthusiasm is quite biased. I have noticed of late that all of my reviews for Curb have been exceedingly glowing, though I must admit that I cannot help this fact. The man is a genius, and he rarely slips up (though his 1998 film Sour Grapes is so awful I can hardly bear it). This episode was no different, and it had everything in it but the kitchen sink. Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Hot TowelPosted by Shane Hallam | Wednesday, October 14, 2009 @ 12:36pmCurb Your Enthusiasm aired once again on Sunday, and boy, did we have a doozy. Larry found himself drawing the ire of an angry boyfriend, his physician, Suzie and Jeff (once again), Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen, and randomly, Christian Slater, all within the same episode! As I have said before, the true mark of Curb Your Enthusiasm's genius is its ability to have so many different characters and elements within a single episode, and be able to fludily intertwine them in a manner which is cohesive and artistic. It seemed impossible when I came to reflect on the episode that all of these events had occurred within a 30-minute time span. Curb Your Enthusiasm: Vehicular FellatioPosted by Shane Hallam | Tuesday, September 29, 2009 @ 1:58pmCurb Your Enthusiasm aired its second installment Sunday night, and while it was a strong showing, it was not quite as good as the first episode. The zaniness that rendered the premiere as a step above the rest of the Curb canon was lacking, and what we got instead was a run-of-the mill outing. Curb Your Enthusiasm: Funkhouser's Crazy SisterPosted by Shane Hallam | Monday, September 21, 2009 @ 11:11pmLast night marked the much-anticipated return of the eccentric HBO comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm. For all of those who are not regular viewers, the show stars Seinfeld co-creator and writer Larry David as a semi-fictionalized version of himself, and situates him in an awkward world of social missteps and peers with unusual and unforgiving tendencies. The Fall Television Season: Comedy PreviewPosted by Shane Hallam | Wednesday, September 16, 2009 @ 7:53pmIt's fall again, which means it's time for the annual return of the TV season. This year's batch of both new and returning comedies looks extremely promising. Representing the latter, we have, amongst others, the shows How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, and the long-awaited return of the quirky HBO comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm, three shows which I will be covering throughout the duration of their respective seasons. To be eagerly anticipated are the resolutions to the considerable cliffhangers left by all three during their season finales.
