TV Rants & Raves: American Horror Story - Asylum

Posted by: Tony Hinds  •  February 1, 2013 @ 8:38pm

American Horror Story has been on my radar from the moment it was announced. I've always loved the horror genre's sporadic stabs at the small screen (from Night Gallery to American Gothic) and am more than ready to welcome new additions. But as I watched this 2nd season -- I realized I could never write about the show on a week to week basis.

Glee: Dynamic Duets

Posted by: Mike Walkey  •  November 24, 2012 @ 7:29am

Okay, so after criticizing how immature this season's new love triangle was, Glee must've heard me because they stepped up their game with a couple of surprise twists to make this triangle much more interesting. All that trouble that Ryder was having in his classes? Turns out he's dyslexic.

Glee: Glease

Posted by: Mike Walkey  •  November 18, 2012 @ 5:32pm

Were you like me and found it a little odd that this episode wasn't so much the New Directions staging the musical Grease, but more them paying homage to the 1978 movie Grease? I'm a fan of the movie too, but I would have liked to have seen some creativity instead of everyone just performing scenes shot for shot straight out of the m

Glee: The Role You Were Born To Play

Posted by: Mike Walkey  •  November 11, 2012 @ 9:03am

After weeks of baseball playoffs and Presidential elections, Glee is finally back. I almost forgot where we left off. Everyone broke up, remember? Well as it turned out Will and Emma are still together, but they still have some things to work out. More on that later. Nothing new to report this week about Kurt and Rachel in New York...

Glee: The Breakup

Posted by: Mike Walkey  •  October 8, 2012 @ 7:40am

Three episodes in and I haven't felt Glee has been breaking much new ground this season. And you can hear me groan at the sight of Marley and Jake bonding at school about being poor at the beginning of this episode.

Glee: Makeover

It's been a fun start to the fourth season of Glee so far, despite some predictability. And so here lies the first episode with a major cliff-hanger ending.

Glee: Britney 2.0

Posted by: Mike Walkey  •  September 24, 2012 @ 7:01pm

Oops, they did Britney again! At only the second episode, Glee does its first theme episode of the season, and Ms. Spears becomes the first artist to get a second treatment from the New Directions. I hope this isn't a sign that Glee is running out of songs/artists to perform.

Glee: The New Rachel

Posted by: Mike Walkey  •  September 23, 2012 @ 7:26pm

Wide eyed Midwestern ingénue. Check. Bright lights, big city. Check. Dreams of making it in the big apple. Check. Drill sergeant for a dance instructor. Check. Reality check. Check.

Welcome to New York, you suck. And so begins Dance 101 with Cassandra July (Kate Hudson). And with those words Rachel is unceremoniously welcomed to her new school and her new home. Ms.

Glee: Goodbye

Posted by: Mike Walkey  •  May 27, 2012 @ 10:35am

Like any difficult goodbye, the final episode of Glee's Season 3, seemed like there wasn't enough time for everything to be said. Before we knew it everyone was in their cap and gown and tears were flowing.

Glee: Props/ Nationals

Posted by: Mike Walkey  •  May 21, 2012 @ 3:32pm

Silly me, I thought this week's episode was the season finale. Alas, next week will be the infamous "Graduation" episode that Gleeks around the world have been waiting for...
