For this, the stupid finale to end a stupid season, each girl will dance with each guy once. No group dances, no same-sex dances, no solos. However... nine dances in an hour. Brace yourselves.

As we are rushing through these nine dances, with nary a second for Cat to catch her breath, there will be no rehearsal footage. I hate when there is no rehearsal footage because it gives me nothing to make fun of.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been watching the Legion of Extraordinary Dancers over and over this week. But now we gotta talk about these kids.

We’ve got two performances from each of the six remaining couples tonight, so belt in for a wild ride. Or at least less talking from the judges, if we’re lucky. (They wouldn’t shorten the routines to a minute just so they could talk more, would they? ...Don’t answer that.)

The opening 8-counts are so dismal on this giant new stage. Each dancer has to awkwardly sprint to centre stage during the preceding dancer’s 8-count, and then race off following their own. It’s... unbecoming.

Still, Cat is as becoming as ever, so I guess we can all be happy. Even if baseball is pre-empting the usual order of things, and once again, no results show and it’s all up to the judges to boot off two dancers tonight.

This week in Canada: Things finally come to a sputtering, predictable end.

And in the US: We meet the Top 20, and then we meet a different Top 20, but then it doesn't matter anyway. Also, new set, new credits, new stupid empty Paula Abdul chair.
