Sayid! A cold blooded killer with a heart of gold. He's always been a fascinating character. I watched the episode on Tuesday with a new Lost-head...she just bought Season 1 and was about to delve into the world of Lost. Convinced that she would forget it all by the time she got to this episode, she watched it with my wife and I.
Much Jack this episode, entitled "Lighthouse". The flash sideways was devoted to Jack and the relationship with his son. Very good story in the sideways flash, with Jack's son seemingly running away and Jack, worried, looking for him everywhere. Jack eventually finds his son, playing piano wickedly at a sort of entrance exam into a high-end music school.
This episode did answer, at least it began to answer, a question that's been on my mind for quite a long while: What happened to Claire??? We also got a little more info on the strange Asian Dude (Dogan?), what's up with Sayid (but can we trust them?), and an emoting Sawyer (which is a really cool change in him that began to really happen last year).
The new and final season of Lost promised to answer many lingering questions, too many questions to list here, however the first episode probably left me with more questions. This confounding but brilliant series has thrown so many twists at us that at times it's hard to remember all the things we need to know this year. But they've sure gotten off to a typical start.
