Interview: Conan graphic designer (and occasional on-screen performer) Pierre Bernard

Posted by: Paul Little  •  March 7, 2011 @ 6:38pm

Getting into graphic design -- originally comic book lettering, and later television design -- Pierre Bernard had no aspirations to be a television performer. But a few years after starting at Late Night with Conan O'Brien in the early 90s, he made a random appearance on the show sparked by a design of his on a "New State Quarters" sketch, which was a huge hit.

In Sheldon's mind, he believes that everything he says is perfectly acceptable, because he has deduced that it is right. He perceives himself as relying on his intelligence to be objective, however, his social incompetence makes him out of sync with the rest of the world.

To Sheldon, Leonard, Raj, and Howard, Zack was beneath them and worthy of being made fun of. In a strange twist, Zack not only agreed to go with them to the comic book store, but to also join them in their costume contest.

Raj's sister, Priya (Aarti Mankad), was in town for one night on a layover. The back story of this episode involved a five year old agreement that Howard and Leonard made where they promised that nothing would happen between either one of them and Priya. By the evening, Priya had appeared at Leonard and Sheldon's door, while Sheldon was busy with a text based video game.

The new fall television season is upon us! I know I'm not the only one who's excited. While cable has come on strong over the last few years with some exceptional series, and the internet takes more and more of our time each and everywhere, there still isn't quite anything like network television.

Both Penny and Leonard are feeling the effects of having broken up with each other. To Leonard's surprise, Penny was with a date, as he knocked on her apartment door. Not surprisingly, her date differed quite a bit from Leonard. As a non-genius, he perceived the laser as a weapon and not as a scientific instrument, leading to the clueless dialogue that took place.

The Big Bang Theory: The Plimpton Stimulation

Posted by: Lawrence Lee  •  May 11, 2010 @ 11:08pm

There is a certain type of woman that can go into an established close-knit group of men, insert her sexuality within, and destabilize everything. In this episode of The Big Bang Theory, that woman is Dr. Elizabeth Plimpton. Unfamiliar with the opposite sex, Sheldon used his limited knowledge to prepare for her arrival and stay at his and Leonard's apartment.

The Big Bang Theory: The Creepy Candy Coating Corollary

Posted by: Shane Hallam  •  October 23, 2009 @ 12:40pm

Okay, I concede. Sheldon was once again hilarious as the focal point of The Big Bang Theory this week. The writers keep devising new ways for him to shine, yet using the same foundation, and it has been slightly unpredictable and always entertaining.

The Big Bang Theory: The Jiminy Conjecture

Posted by: Shane Hallam  •  September 29, 2009 @ 4:14pm

It seems that lately we've been seeing a more emotional, vulnerable side of Sheldon. To be honest, I like it.
