Summer TV often offers little in the way of new television beyond reality competition series, but check in with us daily to see what's new tonight.
My pick for tonight: If you have cable, there's a new Say Yes to the Dress on TLC at 10:00, and I would be lying if I denied this show's clutch on my heart. I spend the majority of it trying to pick my jaw up off the floor, in shock either at the bridezillas themselves or their budgets. But otherwise, for you non-cablers, why not give Elvis Costello a try on CTV?
8:00 PM
NBC Chopping Block
(Some cooking show, a la Gordon Ramsay only not. I don't know, I prefer The Food Network for my channel-flipping needs.)
ABC Surviving Suburbia
(That sitcom with Bob Saget. Yes, another one.)
FOX Don't Forget the Lyrics!
(Season finale.)
8:30 PM
ABC The Goode Family
(A new animated series.)
9:00 PM
NBC Dateline NBC
(The story of a couple murdered while trying to sell their boat; plus, a mother's mysterious disappearance, solved 16 years later.)
TLC What Not to Wear
10:00 PM
ABC 20/20
(I can't decipher what they're going to be talking about, because their website is like the messiest thing ever. Fail, ABC. Fail.)
TLC Say Yes to the Dress
CTV Spectacle: Elvis Costello with... Renée Fleming
(CTV sez: The great American soprano Renée Fleming is funny, fascinating and refreshingly down-to-earth in talking about opera, jazz and, of course, the extraordinary instrument that is her voice - which is also on display in some breathtaking performances.)
