What's On This Weekend? - July 18/19

Check in with us to see what's new this weekend in the land of summer TV.

My pick for the weekend: The Musical Brain on CTV on Saturday night looks kind of awesome, frankly. If you are a musician like me, it's sure to intrigue you.

SATURDAY, JULY 17

7:00 PM
CTV The Musical Brain
(From CTV: Using the research findings of leading medical experts, the documentary examines the physical, psychological and emotional responses to music through a variety of tests on children and adults. "The Musical Brain" also features candid interviews with Michael Bublé, Feist, Wyclef Jean and Sting, who share what they have learned about the power of music in their lives.)
CBC The Nature of Things: Black Wave: The Legacy of Exxon Valdez
(Sad things happen to sea otters, I know that much.)
GLOBAL Doc
(Apparently they do this four-episode marathon every week?)

8:00 PM
NBC
Kings
CTV Wilby Wonderful
(Movie. From CTV: "A Nova Scotian with a secret makes various suicide attempts while his fellow islanders deal with issues of their own." ...Uplifting.)

8:30 PM
FOX
Cops

9:00 PM
FOX
America's Most Wanted: America Fights Back

10:00 PM
ABC Dirty Sexy Money
(Returns from hiatus. They sure are burying this. Saturday at 10 PM? Really? So that we can watch what during weeknight primetime, Dating in the Dark? Awesome.)

SUNDAY, JULY 18

7:00 PM
THE CW Valentine

8:00 PM
CBS / GLOBAL Big Brother
NBC / CTV Merlin
CBC The Summit (Part 1)
(CBC likes their adjectives: "This compelling movie focuses on a North American military-engineered smallpox virus smuggled into Canada as world leaders gather for the G8 Summit. The international all-star cast features Bruce Greenwood, Christopher Plummer and Lisa Ray.")
DISCOVERY Deadliest Catch
(It's like three hours long, this special presentation. I hope you like crabs.)

9:00 PM
NBC
Meteor
(Original mini-series. Part 2 of 2.)
HBO True Blood

10:30 PM
HBO Entourage

Re: Deadliest Catch

I do like crabs? I really can't explain why I find that show so compelling, but I do. Three hours. Excellent.
