I said I'd show up when Ellen did, and she was there tonight in the previews for Hollywood Week next week, so here we are.

Next week, the real fun will start. Each week, you'll find a recap of the performances and results right here on ShowbizMonkeys shortly after the Wednesday night show, and then I want to hear from all of you.

Your thoughts on the judging changes? Your thoughts on the merits of various contestants? Your thoughts on the relative lameness of various song choices? Vent it all here, 'cause Lord knows I will be. And folks, misery loves company.

Here's what I really want to know: does anyone watch this show for the love of it; or are you, like me, sucked in against your will and by the end of the season, far more invested than you ever had any intention of becoming?
