Glee: Audition

Beauties & The Beiste

The groundbreaking, Emmy-winning, water cooler whispering, pop culture denting first season of Glee was a tough act to follow, but season two was up for the task and it didn't waste time.

There's a new bully in town and her name is Beiste, Shannon Beiste, as McKinley High got a new football coach due to Ken Tanaka's nervous breakdown. She made her presence felt immediately by butting heads with Will Shuster and Sue Sylvestre who were miffed at the principle's decision to cut back funding from Glee and Cheerios in favour of football. This provided an early classic moment of Will and Sue joining forces (dare I say?) to upend the mighty Beiste.

Other new faces include Sam, the new pretty boy jock torn between singing and tackling. And Sunshine Corrizone, the Filipino protégé who was quickly whisked away to join forces with the evil Vocal Adrenaline.

"Pssst. Tina dumped Artie and Finn's trying out for the Cheerios because he was kicked off the football team by the Beiste! Pass it on!"

All this plus a grand production of Jay Z & Alicia Keys' "Empire State of Mind" and a knockout duet of Lady Gaga's "Telephone" made Season Two's opener a zippy, dizzy dish. Continuing the Glee tradition of new age sardonic wit and old school sentiment, season two is off to a great start and has already opened some juicy doors. We shall wait and see what happens next!

P.S. Hit me baby next episode!!
