Interview: Conan graphic designer (and occasional on-screen performer) Pierre Bernard

Posted by: Paul Little  •  March 7, 2011 @ 6:38pm

Getting into graphic design -- originally comic book lettering, and later television design -- Pierre Bernard had no aspirations to be a television performer. But a few years after starting at Late Night with Conan O'Brien in the early 90s, he made a random appearance on the show sparked by a design of his on a "New State Quarters" sketch, which was a huge hit.

The 10 Worst Oscar Best Picture Winners of All Time

Posted by: Elizabeth Hughes Belzil  •  March 6, 2011 @ 3:31pm

In the wake of the grandest celebration of film, one must inevitably ponder the value of such an affair: the millions spent on deluxe cuisine, haute-couture and party favors; the endless road blocks manned by legions of the LAPD, their hands quivering in switch-blade readiness inches above their nightsticks; not to mention the monumental production and advertising costs.

Posted by: Andrew Burns  •  March 6, 2011 @ 12:13am

Another part of the Superman mythology super-speeds off the comic book shelves this week on Smallville with what I like to call a 'bookend' type of an episode. The kind of episode with a good opening and ending that are really the only two parts keeping everything in the middle from collapsing.

Posted by: Diana Prano  •  March 4, 2011 @ 1:23pm

I have been to the church of Levi Kreis and the gospel is simple. Love yourself! The last stop of his SideXSide Tour at Joe's Pub in NYC was electrifying and amazing! Levi is astonishing. Listen, you can sit there and say, 'great show,' but that's simply not enough.

Oscar Coverage: Mike Walkey's 2011 Academy Awards Round-Up

    Posted by: Mike Walkey  •  March 1, 2011 @ 3:03pm

Where was Ricky Gervais when we needed him?! Shame on you Hollywood for being too sensitive and ostracizing the acid-tongued Brit comic after the Golden Globes. At least he told actual jokes!

What I witnessed Sunday evening had to be the most awkwardly boring Oscar telecast I have ever watched.

      Fringe: Subject 13

      Posted by: Andrew Burns  •  March 1, 2011 @ 10:09am

Although it may look like the present with Walter still driving his beaver panel station wagon, but the cheesy hair styles and terrible clothing all point to the 80's. Fringe gets to recycle their vintage version of an opening title sequence from last season in this week's flash back episode, "Subject 13".
