Are you ready to meet your Top 10?
Is it really going to be only 10?
Up first to hear their fate, it's Martin and Mark from Monday, and Gary and Drew from Tuesday. Mark is through (boooo) and Martin is not (phewf). Gary is not through (aww, but not surprising); Drew is (yay!).
This is bittersweet for me. Most of my favourites are playing tonight, but I know that (allegedly) three of them will get booted, and there are only two I wouldn't miss (the girls, of course).
Ben's still overexaggerating the Top 10 thing, so I'm holding out hope it's not true.
Ben talks so much in his intro about Top 10 this and Top 10 that, that I'm convinced they're faking us out and scaring us into thinking six people are going home this week, and then it's totally only going to be four and there will be a Top 12 and everyone will be happy.
LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN
9:00 PM
10:00 PM
TCM watch (yes, I went overboard tonight):
Teddy Geiger is a young singer-songwriter I first encountered through the short-lived TV show Love Monkey, where he played a (big stretch) young singer-songwriter alongside Tom Cavanagh, Judy Greer, and Jason Priestley.
I just fried my mouse by accidentally dumping half a cup of coffee all over my keyboard tray. It was not fun.
They're really playing with the format of the entire show this year. Last week, as you may recall, the results show consisted of small group performances.
Happy Canada day, from me and Ben Mulroney. Hope it was a good one.
Tonight's show opens with a performance from Adam, who claims that he is a rebel (directly associated, I think, with the fact that he rides a motorcycle. Hardcore!) He's going to sing Wyclef Jean's "Gone 'til November", and he's not going to do it well.
Good evening, and welcome to Sixties Night on Canadian Idol. During which Ben Mulroney will (unironically) wear a white v-neck t-shirt under a beige suit. The whole time.
By the way, you may have noticed that I'm not Ariana. She's busy this week helping to plan and execute her best friend's wedding, and she asked me (Mandi) to fill in for her.
