He-Man is an interesting creature from a cultural perspective. Mattel, having scored great success with Barbie and seeing the success of G.I. Joe, decided to try to slide into the boy's toy market, cashing in on the post-Conan "Sword and Sandle" craze.
Kidding. But Still. feels like you're hanging out at a fun New Year's Eve party and Greg Proops just happens to be holding court. Greg is someone I've been watching since I started comedy. A lot of people know him from Whose Line is it Anyway?, but I've always been more impressed by his improvisation as a stand up.
Mid-Range is not Jamel Johnson's first foray into comedy albums. Jamel, who rose up through the D.C. comedy scene and is now a regular at the Improv, launches into a tight and punchy 30ish-minute set.
In May of 1983, I sat on the Vancouver SkyTrain with my uncle and father and literally vibrated with excitement. I had just seen an army of Ewoks assist a ragtag Rebel Alliance take down a galactic fascist empire. I was 9 years old and this was squarely in my wheelhouse (and unknowingly helped inform my spirituality, politics, and love of science fiction and fantasy for the rest of my life).

A little over a year back, I settled into a seat to watch Kyle Bergstresser record his album You Gotta Get Used To The Boy at The John Candy Box Theatre in Toronto's Second City.
I Swear is the true story of John Davidson, a recipient of the MBE for his work educating people about Tourette syndrome. John was a kid like any other growing up outside Edinburgh – he liked playing football and worked his paper route. There were big hopes for his future education, and then as puberty hit, everything changed.
Matt sits down with actor and advocate Sarah Luby to talk about her Lifetime film I Have to Kill My Neighbor (without spoiling the twisty turns of the story), her advocacy for those living with invisible disabilities, and the wonders of musicals.

Album Review: Cameron Esposito - Person of No Consequence

Cameron Esposito is a comedian with a solid history: 5 albums, her own sitcom, and multiple film and television appearances, not to mention a 20-year career in the industry. They've easily cut their teeth. Her album Grab Them Aghast is a go-to, where her hunger as a young comic shines through and is immediately charming.
