Synopsis

Bringing you back to your childhood, this documentary focuses on Caroll Spinney, the voice behind Sesame Street’s Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch since 1969.

The persona of Big Bird is plucked away feather by feather, taking us into Spinney’s life from his passion for art to his everlasting love for his wife to the puppets his mother made for him that he still uses to this day.

I Am Big Bird uses home footage, shot by Spinney’s wife Debra, to emphasize the personal touch put into this film, blurring the line between his personal and private life.
