Synopsis

Beautiful, headstrong, and wealthy, Emma Woodhouse (Anya Taylor-Joy) lives at Hartfield with her father (Bill Nighy). Spoiled and pampered, she's restless and wants something she can focus on. When her former governess marries Mr. Weston (Rupert Graves), Emma believes that because she introduced the two, the success of their relationship lies on her ability as a matchmaker.
Determined to continue her good work, Emma tries to bring about other matches in her sleepy little town, including matching her friend Harriet (Mia Goth) to the young vicar, Mr. Elton (Josh O'Connor), without realizing he believes Emma to be in love with him. In this glittering satire of social class and the pain of growing up, Emma must adventure through misguided matches and romantic missteps to find the love that has been there all along.

Based on Jane Austen's classic novel Emma, about finding your equal and earning your happy ending.
