The number one show on Wednesday night according to Variety! Still a great show, just not as remarkable as Season 1. Why? It's like falling in love. You can never recapture that first rush of surprise, happiness and novelty.
TV on DVD Releases:
The 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards took place tonight at the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles, and like most years, there were few surprises. The Emmy voters tend to be pretty predictable, and tonight was no different, as Mad Men took home Best Drama Series honours and rookie sitcom Modern Family won for Best Comedy Series.
I'm going to be completely honest here: I'm a bit disappointed by this year's Emmy nominations. Sure, some usual faves who deserve nominations got them, such as Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother), and Hugh Laurie (House).
Need a good laugh? If comedy's your thing, run, don't walk to your DVR, computer or tv and you can thank me later! The writing is stellar and the cast, magnificent! It's one of those perfect shows that is already a modern classic.
It's fall again, which means it's time for the annual return of the TV season. This year's batch of both new and returning comedies looks extremely promising.
