EIFF Review: Breakfast on Pluto

Some of Ireland's greatest actors and its greatest living director teams up again with writer Patrick McCabe for this alternately fun and serious view of a transvestite's travels and travails as he/she seeks out his mother who abandoned him. Set against the backdrop of Ireland in the 60s and 70s with all of the political unrest going on at the time, this is a kind of adventure film, complete with the requisite very interesting characters that the protagonist meets on his journey.

Breakfast on Pluto is scheduled for release in November.
