Let me possibly be the first to say that I believe that the episode title has barely anything to do with the actual plotline of the story and should rather have been replaced with an alternative, more apt title. The episode instead dealt with Barney claiming that he and Robin never fought, and attempting to appear as an alpha male while he instructed Marshall on how to get your way while still avoiding a fight. Of course, Marshall's qualm was with something as trifling and insignificant as dishwashing, and he was taking advice from Barney, so we knew that the situation was not going to end well. How I Met Your Mother: Duel CitizenshipPosted by Shane Hallam | Friday, October 23, 2009 @ 11:27amThis week's How I Met Your Mother episode was the second consecutive agreeable instalment, and was hopefully a positive sign of where the relationship between Barney and Robin is headed, contrary to my former trepidation. The episode primarily involved Robin's hesitancy in regards to obtaining her American citizenship, as she believed that by doing so she could potentially mitigate her Canadian-ness and lose touch with her roots. Concurrently, Ted decides to take Marshall on a roadtrip to their favourite pizza parlour, though is displeased when Lily opts to tag along. How I Met Your Mother: Robin 101Posted by Shane Hallam | Wednesday, October 7, 2009 @ 7:54pmThis week's How I Met Your Mother was one of the series' rare missteps. Robin and Barney's relationship is becoming increasingly emasculating for Barney, as he is becoming nauseatingly sweet and doting towards Robin, detracting from his usual obnoxious and chauvinistic hilarity. His decision to take a class on the subject of Robin, instructed by Ted, exhibited his willingness to go much too far by his former standards in pleasing a woman. In fact, the old Barney didn't even know the meaning of the concept of "pleasing a woman." The character himself is now more wholesome, which to sanctimonious viewers will be more gratifying, but for the majority of HIMYM viewers, it is Barney's nefarious tendencies which keep us tuning in every week. I know I speak for the latter when I say I don't like the looks of where this is headed.
