TCM watch: Hitchcock tonight starting at eight, The Birds, Marnie, Psycho, and Topaz. Tomorrow, Stingaree (a bandit finances the career of a pretty Australian operatic singer) at 8:30 am, The African Queen (an imperious woman makes a gin-soaked boat captain fight Germans in the World War I Congo) at 11:45 am, Mr. Arkadin (a shady financier pays a man to research his past, in order to erase it with murder) at 1:30 pm, and The Farmer's Daughter (a Swedish maid runs for Congress against her rich employers' candidate) at 3:15 pm. I probably always recommend The African Queen whenever it is on, but The Farmer's Daughter is another great favorite of mine.
