Dave Grohl wants to drum on Metallica's new album?

Dave Grohl has been a fan of Metallica since day one and recently wrote an open letter to the band about their 9th studio album they've been working on (with producer Rick Rubin):

"Dear METALLICA,

"Hey, it's Dave! Remember me? Yeah, I'm the guy that's been listening to your band faithfully since 1983.
