When you think of the apocalypse -- filled with hell-bent creatures with a thirst for carnage, cannibals, and savages -- a Seth Rogen movie is the last thing you would conjure up in your mind. This is the End is to a Roland Emmerich movie what Shaun of the Dead is to a George A. Romero movie.

Review: Cyrus

Despite a rough day at work and a line that stretched into the theater parking lot, I felt practically giddy as I waited to see Monday night's screening of Cyrus. At last a break from the formulaic Hollywood drivel I normally review! For some time the indie scene has been abuzz with talk of the "mumblecore" movement and the Duplass Brothers in particular.

Jay Baruchel, like many young Canadian actors, got an early taste of showbiz on the 90s Nickelodeon/YTV series Are You Afraid of the Dark?, which partially filmed in his hometown of Montreal.
