This weekend saw the opening of the sports film You Gotta Believe. Every generation has a "sports film" – for some it's Field of Dreams, for others it's A League of Their Own or The Sandlot, and for me it was Bad News Bears.
I want to start with this: I usually love the work of David Cronenberg.

What could have been a fascinating study of two of the most brilliant and troubled men in the history of medical science devolves into a very well-made but rather frigid melodrama, an unlikely choice for director David Cronenberg.
One of the smartest and strongest Canadian features to come from the 2004 Vancouver International Film Festival was director David Weaver's Siblings, a dark comedy about a group of kids and how they deal with the sudden and tragic death of their parents, which they inadvertently caused.
