Synopsis

In the mid-1940s, eight-year-old Amos (Amir Tessler) is living with his father Arieh (Gilad Kahana) and mother Fania (Natalie Portman), refugees who have fled to Palestine for safety.

Fania, who comes from a privileged background, is struggling to accept poverty and Arieh is a failed academic. Their life, challenges and the changing times are seen through the eyes of young Amos who eventually follows his own ideals and political beliefs.
