New Music Releases: January 5th, 2010

Well folks, 2010 is coming in with a whimper in terms of new music releases this week. But there's lots of good things on the horizon in January including new albums from Spoon, Vampire Weekend, OK Go, Cold War Kids and Ringo Starr. For now we'll have to be content with:

Ke$ha Animal (Amazon)

2010 debut album from the American singer/songwriter Kesha -- oops, I'm sorry, Ke$sha who achieved fame as featured vocalist on Flo Rida's hit single 'Right Round'. Animal was executive produced by Dr. Luke (Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson, and Avril Lavigne). Her first single, 'Tik Tok' has been making the rounds on radio stations since October and hit number one in New Zealand, Canada and Australia.

Katherine McPhee Unbroken (Amazon)

Unbroken is the sophomore album from American Idol season five runner up Katherine McPhee, and her first with Verve Records. McPhee shares writing credits on this album with the likes of AI songwriting guru Kara DioGuardi, Ingrid Michaelson and Paula Cole.
