Album Review: Brian Posehn - The Fartist

Age has not softened Brian Posehn, the heavy metal/ geek comedian (whose new album The Fartist is released this week from New Wave Dynamics). Nor has fatherhood. The special, which had its premiere earlier this spring on Netflix, is undeniably vintage Posehn, as he goes back to the well to once again examine the minutia of his favorite subjects.

Nerds. Geeks. Fanboys. All these words used to be used to describe those who were considered the social outcasts. It wasn't cool to like comic books or computers. You couldn't get girls playing Dungeons & Dragons or possessing an ounce of intelligence.

If you're like me (and I know some of you are), you love to seek out comedy wherever you can. It's the main reason why I watch so much late night television -- it's a great place to see great comedy every night. And while you'll (usually) get great comedy from the shows' hosts and their writers, we're really lucky when a stand-up comedian performs.
