The main telecast for the 2023 Juno Awards (hosted for the second year in a row by actor Simu Liu) might not be happening until tomorrow, but the trophies for many of the awards started getting handed out last night in Edmonton.

Laurie Kilmartin has been making people laugh for a long time. She's been working as a stand-up for most of her adult life, putting out 3 albums (including 2021's Corset) and appearing on late night shows like CONAN, The Late Late Show with James Corden, and Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Nick Nemeroff is a Montreal comic who has been a mainstay in the Toronto comedy scene for the past few years, winning Best Newcomer and Best Breakout Comic at the 2017 and 2018 I Heart Joke Awards. He's made appearances at Montreal's Just for Laughs and Comedy Central's Clusterfest, and his comedy has been described as "aggressively deadpan".

Interview: Conan graphic designer (and occasional on-screen performer) Pierre Bernard

Getting into graphic design -- originally comic book lettering, and later television design -- Pierre Bernard had no aspirations to be a television performer. But a few years after starting at Late Night with Conan O'Brien in the early 90s, he made a random appearance on the show sparked by a design of his on a "New State Quarters" sketch, which was a huge hit.

Late night talk show guests: November 22-28

Unfortunately, I have no time today to talk about what went down last week in late night, nor who to check out this week. Because of the Thanksgiving holiday in the U.S. this Thursday, the Comedy Central shows are airing repeats all week, and the other shows have repeats either Thursday, Friday, or both.

Conan O'Brien returned! Did you watch? What did you think? Many critics thought he was "too safe" -- I guess they were expecting him to re-invent the wheel, given the freedom he had gained by owning his own show on basic cable. But Conan has always wanted to be a talk show host, and we shouldn't have expected him to do too much more than that.
