Matt's latest troubles in life manifested in Episodes taking shots at a number of targets that needed to be made fun of. Greedy families. Gossip rags. Petty criticism of weight gain. Sex scandals. Illegal substance use. Rehab.
"Maybe we should try adjusting your medication again."
There is something that can be said about Matt's ability to dig himself out of a hole. For now, at least. Diane was right about his nasty vicious circle, and she should have stuck to not wanting anything to do with Matt. But Matt is also a persistent one.
"Hold that thought, I'm just going to change the sheets."
Episodes is great when it comes to all the relationship and cheating drama that seems to have no limits. Since none of the characters are all that relatable, it becomes easy to just laugh at them as they screw each other to no end, and in how they deal with their poor decisions.
"I may be a man of the year, but right now I feel like the luckiest man in the world. Thank you."
The series two finale of Episodes centered around the Man of the Year Award ceremony that was honouring Merc. All the screwings and fumblings of the last two seasons have finally caught up to everybody in this episode.
"Apparently, it's bring your stalker to work day."
The failure of Pucks was being noticed by everybody. It was not just that Pucks was a poor show, it was because the network had rejected a low-brow talking dog show which ended up becoming very successful on a rival network.
