Review: Feast of the Seven Fishes

In an effort to avoid burying the lead, I enjoyed Feast of the Seven Fishes, and there's a lot of heart to unpack. However, like many decent films, its intentions are slightly off. The film doesn't really work as a romantic comedy, but as a time capsule, it's very strong.

Writing a romantic comedy is hard.

It's that time of year that all men love: aimlessly wandering around a parking lot looking for a space, standing in line for hours between an old lady and a screaming baby, being ripped off by a jewellery salesperson... and this usually all occurs on December 23!

In the Family Guy universe, Santa Claus really does exist. Not only that, Road To The North Pole explained in great deal, the setting in which a world where Santa Claus is real can possibly happen. It turned out the world was consumed with wanting presents, making the the North Pole into a mass manufacturing dystopia.

Since you're stuck listening to it as you stroll through malls from Halloween right through the Boxing Day Super Sales, you may as well be listening to the good stuff when you get home and start wrapping presents.

    Review: Fred Claus

    It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. At least if you're at the malls or a multiplex or even better yet, a multiplex in a mall. Last time I looked at the calendar, the date read early November putting us squarely a month and a half away from the arrival of Santa.
