So You Think You Can Dance: Weekly Roundup

This week on our Canadian show: RIDICULOUSNESS.

This week on the U.S. show: Boston. Pahk the cah at Hahvahd Yahd, or something.

So You Think You Can Dance Canada, Top 12 Week

I AM OUTRAGED. Austin has been in the Bottom 3 EVERY WEEK but one, and they KEPT HIM over the much more popular, much hotter, much better performer Daniel?

OUTRAGE.

I am appeasing myself with the knowledge that since everyone in Canada feels like I do and thus never vote for him, he should be gone next week. Although, with my luck...

But enough anger, who was good this week? Tara-Jean & Everett, WHAT UP. That was wicked cool. The tapping was awesome, that last extended lift-flip nonsense was outrageous (but in the good way. Unlike Daniel's ouster), and the performance itself was just superb.

Also, Kim & Emanuel, although between their routine and her starring role in Luther's Top 12 number, I am a bit tired of watching her sex it up. Can she ever just... dance something? That might be nice. I am excited to see her with a different partner.

I enjoyed Melanie & Cody's and Amy & Vincent's routines as well, and thought Jayme Rae & Daniel did a passable job with one of Blake's less inspired pieces, but Corynne & Austin were just awful. No, Austin did not bring it. No, he did not own it either. It was gross.

After watching the Bottom 6 dancers dance for their lives, I completely expected Corynne and Cody to go, and I'm still trying to recover from the shock of Daniel. What about you?

So You Think You Can Dance, Auditions #3

So, Boston had some interesting characters: the remarkable Teddy and his argyle (not plaid) pants; b-boy Jean, who certainly has a strong core but creeps me out (and was thus undeserving of a direct trip to Vegas, if you ask me); sunshiny Channing, who I like a lot but whose dance ability I am unsold on; tall tapper Ryan, who didn't make it to Vegas; mad krumper (crapper?) Russell, who may have Li'l C beat, not to speak out of turn; and Latin dancer Gene, who I'm referring to as "Creepy Brows." Let us do all we can to forget 46-year-old Paul, shall we? (Why did they even let him in front of the judges? Did they really think his blue leggings would be that entertaining?)

Also, now that I am sort of used to Tyce being this caricature instead of a relatable human being, he grates on my nerves much less.

Your thoughts, fellow dance-watchers?

Ariana, I am with you on the Daniel outrage, I fully expected Cody to go home. When I was looking back on routines I could remember a lot more of Daniels then Cody's which made me wonder about the judges reasoning for voting Daniel out. Regardless, they don't have a vote anymore, now that we are in Top Ten mode its up to Canada!

Tara-Jean and Everett were amazing, like her more and more every week!

I'm glad I'm not the only one outraged! Tara-Jean is really growing on me too. :)

Canada so got it right last night!!! Were you happy to see Austin go Ariana? I am just sad they didn't do it last week, would have preferred seeing Daniel dancing this week.

I'm happy he went! I still haven't seen all of the results episode, and only just saw the performance episode today. Moving sort of ate my week and resulted in my not being able to get this column posted this past week. I'll do double duty this coming week! Dance overload! :)
